Local Government Investment Pool hits a new record high

The Office of the State Treasurer’s program that invests local government’s surplus cash, The Local Government Investment Pool (LGIP), hit a new record high of $19.8 billion in November.

The LGIP continues to see participation from every Washington county and 234 cities and towns throughout the state, and maintains a participation fee that is among the lowest in the country, with an administrative fee of 0.7 basis points (0.007%). It is preforming well as a safe, reliable investment opportunity for locals.

The office’s investments division, whose expert staff is in charge of managing this program, is key to improving how the Office of the State Treasurer protects and invests local government tax dollars.
